When Soap Central first reported that The Bold and the Beautiful's Don Diamont (Bill Spencer) would be competing on the Italian version of Dancing With the Stars and a "Who Shot Bill?" storyline would take place to explain the actor's on-screen absence, we predicted there would be plenty of twists and turns ahead. But the first major twist has surprisingly happened in real life rather than on-screen: Diamont suffered an injury during practice for the hit reality series.
The actor shared the news via an Instagram video in which he reveals that he experienced a hip injury during a rehearsal that prompted him to seek medical care.
"Had a hip injury today at the end of rehearsal and was concerned that there might have been a fracture or maybe a soft tissue injury," he says.
Fortunately, after a little expert care, he was cleared to continue on the dance series with his partner Kanna Karttunen. But that doesn't mean the hip injury experience hasn't been painful!
"I had an MRI, all good. [They] stuck a nice big needle in my ass just now, an anti-inflammatory," he shares, adding that at least one more uncomfortable encounter with a needle was still to come.
Believe it or not, that's not the only pain Diamont has gone through to star on Ballando Con Le Stelle. He shared a video of himself getting a series of back injections for the show, warning: "if you're squeamish around needles, you might not want to click play on this one!"
With Diamont in Italy, Bill will be down and out while the majority of other B&B cast members are embroiled in a "Who Shot Bill?" mystery storyline. Dollar Bill Spencer's entire circle of acquaintances are considered suspects, so narrowing down the culprit could prove to be a long and arduous job. In the meantime, let's hope Diamont's Italian fans can at least continue seeing him in action on television screens via Dancing With the Stars. It may be on a completely different series than fans are used to, but, hey, beggars can't be choosers!
