Former The Bold and the Beautiful star Ashley Tesoro knows a thing or two about female competition, having gone head to head with Amber Moore (Adrienne Frantz) as her B&B character, Kimberly Fairchild. And now the actress might be channeling that rivalry when she competes in the 2020 Mrs Nevada-America event.
The actress -- who went by her pre-married name Ashley Cafagna during her soap opera days -- took to social media to announce that she has formally entered the beauty pageant with hopes of winning the crown.
"I'm so excited to announce that I'll be running in the @mrsnevadaamerica #pageant in June 2020 in the amazing city of #lasvegas for the Mrs. Nevada- America title!!!" she writes on Instagram. "I started my entertainment endeavors at the age of 6 competing in my first beauty pageant in San Diego California. I won Little Ms. California at 8 years old. From there, I launched in Hollywood starring in various television shows, commercials, & films. I'm so happy to come back to my roots all these years later & take a run at the Mrs. Nevada- America title! I know this will be a #journey worth taking & a road worth #traveling 🙌💃🏻👑 I would appreciate all of your #love #prayers & #support"
The Mrs Nevada-America pageant describes itself as an exceptional pageant experience that offers "an opportunity of a lifetime for married women to challenge themselves and expand their horizons, while providing a means of giving back to their communities." Tesoro starred on B&B as Adam Alexander's (Michael Swan) daughter and Macy Alexander's (Bobbie Eakes) sister Kimberly from 1998 to 2001. Prior to her soap opera run, she starred on Saved by the Bell: The New Class and did modeling for companies like Levi's and Tommy Hilfiger. While she starred on The Bold and the Beautiful, the show's executive producer Bradley Bell incorporated Tesoro's singing talents into her character, and the actress recorded several original songs and music videos for the show. Tesoro made her country music debut with a self-titled EP on Tesoro Records in 2007; this was later followed by a 2010 EP called Oh You Angel and a 2012 EP titled Simply Worship.
Tesoro grew up singing in church and performing in the theater company Christian Youth Theater. She and her husband Anthony Tesoro are both Christian ministers and run the Tesoro Ministry Foundation, a nonprofit charity-ministry foundation founded by Anthony in 2000. She is the cowriter of Life is for Living, a Christian ministry and lifestyle blog, and the co-host of Life is for Living TV, a Christian ministry and lifestyle web series.
