For well over a decade, The Bold and the Beautiful fans knew one thing: Liam would either be with Steffy or Hope, and both women would be clamoring for his affection at any given moment. That scenario was put out to pasture in 2020, when Steffy found a new man who loved her and only her. Not even an "accidental" one-night stand with Liam could ruin what Steffy had with Finn, and Liam seemed to accept that -- mainly because he had Hope still waiting in the wings.
In 2023, Hope followed suit when she threw caution to the wind in Rome and finally pulled Thomas in for a kiss. Liam witnessed the moment, and that was the end of the Lope marriage. Since then, Liam has been a man without a woman -- and without a purpose, so what happens to this waffling character next?
Within moments of seeing Hope kiss Thomas, Liam had his lips on a shocked and horrified Steffy. He tried that trick again once back home before declaring his undying love for her. We spent the summer watching Liam proclaim that he never really loved Hope, anyway. It was always Steffy -- until he realized Hope and Thomas had been sleeping together for months.
The day Liam found Hope wearing lingerie and ready to welcome Thomas into her home, something in him seemed to snap, and then...crickets. Liam disappeared from our TV screens for months, only to return as the same whiny waffler he'd always been. We were hoping Liam was going to finally enter his villain era and do something lowdown and calculating to keep Hope and Thomas apart, but instead, he is back to the same old routine of telling Steffy she can never be safe from Sheila as long as she remains married to Finn.
Since both Hope and Steffy have stopped obsessing over Liam, it's time that Liam stops obsessing over them, and that means finding him a new love interest. With B&B's tiny cast, there is no woman currently on the canvas who can work, but what if he found a newcomer who is not so new at all?
With Liam obsessing over how dangerous it is for Steffy to be married to Sheila's son, what if he fell for Sheila's daughter? Liam has never seen Mary or Diana, so if he were to meet one of them and fall for them, he'd have no idea he was with one of Sheila's kids. Once he discovered the truth, he'd already be so in love that he wouldn't want to break things off. That would give the character new life -- far away from the two women he drove crazy for years.
